You're welcome. I looked in your history and saw the changes you did. A few of them I don't remember doing, I was kinda in automatic mode cleaning stuff last night :). -darkNiGHTS

Matt - thanks for the edis Frank Parkinson. I'll work on the page further per your suggestions. Question: how do I appear in the search?

Glad you created this! Best, MarkDilley

  • Thanks! I'm glad so many people are contributing. (we always need more, though...) -MattH 08:23, 24 Dec 2005 (PST)

I'm having cache problems too - making edits that don't seem to take. Ed.

  • Am looking into it MattH 12:55, 1 Dec 2005 (PST)
    • Hasn't happened to me for a while now. Anyone else? -MattH 10:39, 26 Dec 2005 (PST)

[edit] Keys to this kingdom

Hello Matt,

Are you promoting anyone to higher admin here or no? Best, MarkDilley

  • Yes, I will -- as soon as MediaWiki gets upgraded. I'm a terrible manager. Sorry. MattH 17:07, 10 Jul 2006 (PDT)

[edit] Mendelssohn?

MattH, did I see you last night at Pinafore? (Didn't get a chance to say hi - was troubleshooting problems with the orchestra's lighting.) Note that I was ArborWikiing UMGASS at the scene! :) -Murph.

  • Yes, you did! Professor Carl Cohen bought our classes tickets, so we all went and had a grand time. Good show!

[edit] Curious about stats

Matt, do you happen to have an idea of how many unique users (or ips) are editing pages on AW? --Murph 23:24, 5 January 2007 (GMT)

  • if not, it would be possible to track (unique) visitors that hit an edit page by setting up a goal in Google Analytics and measuring that for a while --BrianKerr
    • Good idea... I've set up a goal that registers the 'edit' action, and I'll post the numbers once we have a week or two of data. -MattH 19:29, 9 January 2007 (GMT)

[edit] American Apparel Image

Matt, can you add the image American_Apparel.jpg to the American Apparel article? I uploaded the image, but can't save the article as is because it has the word šex in it. I think the word is valid in the article, so I don't just want to remove it, but the word filter won't allow it. --Adam 23:02, 13 February 2007 (GMT)

  • Yeah, I'll get it. Sorry the filter is so strict -- we couldn't find a better way to handle the spam after a bad attack a couple of months ago.

[edit] keywords in aliases

Matt, thanks for the note about keyword aliasing. I took the few that I added straight from my logs on Vacuum, so I know they are real queries; it might be best to be careful with a style for them to avoid the look of seo-spam. Still a work in progress, I think.... Ed

[edit] As Mark Dilley says, "Wiki is slow."

Which is true, it is. I registered on 12/19/07 and received an email confirmation notice today; the code had expired, heh. Just thought I'd let you know, there might be a queue of emails just waiting to be sent. -vinh!

  • Yep, the server was stopped for... many months. Sysadmin restarted it today, it's processing through everything. -MattH
