Ann Arbor's Pipex Pharmaceuticals Inc. cut 14 jobs and its president's salary in an attempt to quickly cut operating costs during a delay of the company's refiling of a new drug application for its lead drug candidate, oral tetrathiomolybdate or oral TTM.
Pipex is developing late-stage drug candidates like oral TTM, formerly known as Coprexa, to treat neurological and autoimmune diseases like Wilson's disease. The initial application for oral TTM was rejected in January.
