Huron has many meanings, globally and locally. In an Ann Arbor-specific context, "Huron" may mean:

  • The Wyandot tribe of Native Americans, called Hurons by the French.
  • One of a few things named for the tribe:
  • One of several things named for the river:
    • Huron High School of the Ann Arbor Public Schools, which sits just outside the Huron River floodplain
    • Any of a number of streets in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti, including
      • Huron Street, a major east-west artery through Ann Arbor and the point from which addresses are calculated on north-south streets.
      • Huron Parkway, a major north-south four-lane bypass of the east side of Ann Arbor
      • Huron River Drive, (officially WEST Huron River Drive) a scenic road along the river from the north edge of Ann Arbor to Dexter
      • East Huron River Drive, a scenic road running along the river from the east side of Ann Arbor to Ypsilanti
      • Huron Street, a major north-bound one-way artery through Ypsilanti and the point from which addresses are calculated on east-west streets in that city.
