Pretty good American fare. Steaks, seafood, wood-fired pizzas. Decent sandwich lunch at a decent price.
Locally owned, management outsourced. They do have a local chef overseeing the menu and kitchen, and the specials are good and the regular items consistent.
Annoying radio ads trumpet the fact that everything in the restaurant is handmade, encouraging food snobbery, a sense of entitlement, and a fervent wish for good hand-washing practices.
Oh, and they brew beer.
Grizzly Peak was one of Jon Carlson and Greg Lobdell's earlier efforts in Ann Arbor; Carlson and Lobdell have expanded not just next door, into the Del Rio's old space, but up Washington Street with Blue Tractor and Cafe Habana, and to Dexter, Traverse City, and Royal Oak.
