Concentrate is a new-in-2008 weekly online magazine and part of the Issue Media Group, joining Detroit's Model D, southeast Michigan's Metromode, and other such sites.

The general focus of Issue Media's publications is to provide the "good parts" version of local economic news, in intentional opposition to the "if it bleeds, it leads" habits of traditional media. Considering plant closings, layoffs, and other moping to be sufficiently covered in the traditional media, Issue Media focuses on innovations (and innovators), artists, developments, and growth.
