Stephen Kunselman

Stephen Kunselman is a member of Ann Arbor City Council (D-3rd). He was elected in 2009 for a two year term.
Kunselman had previously served from 2006-2008, after multiple terms on the Ann Arbor Planning Commission. During his first Council term, he championed the backyard chicken ordinance, the skate park, and reform of the sidewalk vendor ordinance. He was defeated by Christopher Taylor in 2008.

[edit] 2009 election
In 2009, Mr. Kunselman ran for Council again, challenging incumbent Leigh Greden in the August 4, 2009 primary election. In a three way race (also including LuAnne Bullington), Kunselman beat the incumbent 511 to 505. Mr. Greden requested a recount, which was conducted on August 28, 2009. The vote remained unchanged after the recount. Kunselman won the 2009 general election unopposed.

Kunselman was previously the administrator for Wayne County's Sumpter Township, a post he held until 2003.
