Old M-17 is a name for the section of Stadium Boulevard which was bypassed when I-94 was built on the south side of town.

The Ann Arbor District Library has clippings from the construction of the new road, as well as a few photos of the old road. This clip describes the collection:

We haven't found any photographs (negatives, positives or even newsprint) of an old M-17 shield. As for articles, there's a folder of clippings titled, "Highways: M-17 Relocation" with several (mostly) brief articles from the late 1940s through early 1950s regarding the proposed North-South Blvd. It includes an aerial photograph of the revamped intersection of M-17 and US-12 showing the "islands" that separate east and westbound traffic on Jackson Rd. There is also a sketch of the city "Master Plan" for this area, from 1946. A full page from June 27, 1956 is devoted to photos of the actual construction work and is titled, "Men and Machines Carve Out New Highway: Small Army Builds Southbelt Bypass."
