Ed Koryzno was the city manager of the City of Ypsilanti for 15 years, from the late 1990s until January 20, 2012, when he left for a post with the Michigan State Treasurer's office. Koryzno has been recognized around Michigan for managing Ypsilanti's financial challenges: he was recruited by the state treasurer's office to apply this experience working with other cities in fiscal crisis to avoid state takeover via emergency manager.

Before his stint at Ypsilanti, Koryzno served as City Manager for Fenton, Spring Lake, and Grand Haven. Koryzno has also served on the board of directors of the Michigan Suburbs Alliance.
