Huron River Drive runs downstream near the Huron River, starting at the west at Strawberry Lake Road near Portage Lake and continuing all the way to Lake Erie. There are a number of gaps along the way.

HRD between Ann Arbor and Dexter is a great ride for recreational cyclists -- it's a straight shot to Dexter (and the Dexter Cider Mill) or the Delhi Metropark and Hudson Mills Metropark. There's no bike lane, but you can safely get on the road by crossing the train tracks at Bandemer Park.

At this point West Huron River Drive disappears. If you follow Main Street to Huron Street and then Washtenaw Avenue to Huron Parkway north, you reach it again just to the south of the Huron River Bridge as East Huron River Drive.

East Huron River Drive snakes through Washtenaw Community College, Eastern Michigan University, and mutates into Huron Street (Ypsilanti) in Ypsilanti.
