“One thing that I’ve done, when we archived the women’s suffrage movement in Washtenaw County, I started out with Ann Arbor,” said Zoe Behnke, co-curator. “Looking at that, I found that they started their Ann Arbor Equal Suffrage Association in 1910. And Mrs. Daniel Quirk, she started the Ypsilanti Equal Suffrage Association in 1912. We also have an area rich in equal suffrage history with Michigan State Normal College that is now Eastern Michigan University.”
