The Grove is the name of a development that was proposed for the site of the unbuilt 42 North project at 1430 South Maple Road (near Pauline) on the west side of Ann Arbor.

On Monday January 9, 2012, neighbors within 1,000 feet of the site received notice announcing the new project and the public meeting required by Ann Arbor's Citizens Participation Ordinance. This project will have 224 apartments consisting of 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. The developer announced that there will be a total of 600 bedrooms and 600 parking spaces.

The developer held two required citizen's participation meetings, one on Thursday January 19, 2012, from 6:30 to 8pm at Grace Bible Church, 1300 S Maple Road and a second on February 8, 2012 at Dicken Elementary School, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

The notice to neighbors said that to obtain additional info, contact J Bradley Moore and Associates Architects at 734-930-1500 or [email protected]

This project is is part of a national chain. Their web page is: http://gogrove.com. That site lists 38 other Grove developments that are marketed to students with the slogan "Think The Grove. Think fully-loaded college living."

The developer planned to seek formal site plan approval by the city in late January 2012. After the citizen participation meetings, the planning department scheduled a pre-submission meeting with the developer, to discuss the site plan. The developer subsequently canceled that meeting. Planning staff reports that it has had no further contact from the development team (as of 3/9/12).

In July 2012, local media reported that the developer was looking for a different site for the Grove project. [1]

In January 2015, a developer announced plans for a new development on this site, called The Vue.
