June 1, 2015. U-M fraternity 'hid behind parents and attorneys' after resort vandalism, Sigma Alpha Mu official says. MLive. "Sigma Alpha Mu's national executive director Leland Manders is not pleased with how the University of Michigan chapter of the fraternity conducted itself in the weeks and months following the vandalism of Treetops Resort, and he spoke out against it in a letter he recently issued to the alumni of the chapter."
March 18, 2015. "Permanent" suspension of UM fraternity, but it could be back in 4 years. Michigan Radio. "The head of Sigma Alpha Mu’s international board, Leland Manders, says in fact they hope to “recolonize” the chapter in four years. That's the length of time the university says it will withdraw recognition of the fraternity."
March 17, 2015. U-M fraternity permanently dissolved for ski-resort rampage. Detroit Free Press. "The fraternity has been permanently disbanded by its parent organization for not only wrecking a northern Michigan resort, but also in not stepping up and facing the music."
