Shalimar is an Indian restaurant on Main Street, just south of Liberty Street. It focuses on classical North Indian cuisine.
There was also a second location, Shalimar Cafe, on E. William, now closed.
Open for lunch and dinner daily. Lunch specials and carry out lunch boxes, $8-$10.
This restaurant expanded almost by accident: forced to find a new site during extensive renovations at the Main St. location, the management of Shalimar decided not to immediately give up their new location either. Instead, they found a new format for it and both restaurants have their admirers.
