More details:

You’re invited to submit a proposal to present at Quasi-Con 2013, the second annual student-led, day-long conference hosted by the U-M student chapter of the American Library Association.

It’s called Quasi-Con because it adapts the form of an unconference (with participant-driven workshops and conversation), while incorporating elements of a traditional conference (with presentations and other planned events).

This is a great chance to build your résumé and trade ideas with peers and professionals.

This year’s theme is Minding the Gap. What might we do differently in our libraries, archives, or services, what might we add, what might we give up?

Let’s explore:
New service models.
New user populations and communities.
New collections.
Under-represented or underserved communities, voices, or histories.
New chances to collaborate & innovate.
New technologies that help us serve and preserve.

Share your:
Case studies, projects, research or technologies.
Success stories or inspirations.
Risks or experiments.
Lofty ideas.
Critiques.
Calls to action.

Presentation formats:
10-minute lightning talk (for 1 person).
20- to 25-minute panel (for 2 or more people).
Hands-on technology session, in a computer lab (50 minutes or less).

Who:
Current students given preference, but we welcome proposals from recent graduates and new professionals!
Any program, degree area, or specialization welcome, though your presentation should connect to our theme and focus.

The most important thing to know
You don’t have to be a conference veteran. You don’t even have to know what a Quasi-Con is. If you’ve got a cool idea, share it!
