State of the mall
A very early strip mall, there is indoor hallways with 3 entrances. It's looking a little sad and unloved compared to some of the shinier shopping areas nearby. The site used to be anchored by Bello Vino and the Ann Arbor District Library. Parents would drop their kids off at the library while shopping at China Merchandise, the Bello, or while their younger siblings finished class at Kumon. The Library has moved and the Bello has closed, reportedly causing a substantial drop in business for some of the smaller stores.
A September 2006 Ann Arbor Observer story lists plans for a Plymouth Road Plaza to be built on one acre of the mall's vast (and empty) parking lot.
