Patricia M. Garcia is the publisher, president and co-owner of the Ann Arbor Observer, a monthly magazine distributed free to permanent residents of the Ann Arbor school district and postal service area.

Ms. Garcia currently serves on the board of United Bank & Trust-Washtenaw and is past President of the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor, past chair of the Ann Arbor Summer Festival, and past chair of the Washtenaw Economic Club. She has also served as a board member of many other organizations, including United Bancorp, Inc., the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation, the University Musical Society (UMS), Nonprofit Enterprise at Work (NEW), the Ann Arbor Area Chamber of Commerce, Catholic Social Services, the Ann Arbor Y, and United Way of Washtenaw County. A resident of the Ann Arbor community since 1974, Ms. Garcia has received distinguished service awards from the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor, Ann Arbor Jaycees, and Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan.

Garcia studied at Kalamazoo College and started out as a sales rep with the Ann Arbor Observer. When the Observer founders, Don and Mary Hunt, decided to retire, Garcia and Observer editor John Hilton bought the publication in 1986. For many years it was located at offices in Kerrytown, at the corner of Catherine and Fourth. But in 2012 Garcia and Hilton bought a building at 2390 Winewood, between West Stadium and South Maple, and moved the offices there.

Garcia is the "life partner" of developer Dennis Dahlmann. The couple lives in a condo at 101 North Main in downtown Ann Arbor. Garcia has three grown daughters from her first marriage – Kaeli, Jeana and Maija.
