Obituary

Ola Elizabeth (Parker) Bolgos, 94, died January 26, 2010 at the South Lyon Gardens after a massive stroke. She was born on March 27, 1915. Ola was married to Zina E. Bolgos on February 8, 1937 and he preceded her in death April 4, 2009. She is survived by two children, Gerald Bolgos of Bennington, VT and Rebecca (Neil) Maulbetsch of Whitmore Lake, MI: four grandchildren, Jason Bolgos of Vermont, Adam (Sally) Bolgos of Ann Arbor, Ted (Becca) Maulbetsch and Julie Singer, both of Whitmore Lake. Survivors also include four great-grand-children, Samantha, Jaydin, Hailey and Wyatt of Whitmore Lake; and one sister-in-law, Monty Parker. In addition to her husband Zina, Ola was preceded in death by five siblings, Everet Parker, Dale Parker, Bessie Sanderson,her twin sister Viola Geisendorfer, and Lyman Parker. Ola graduated from Ypsilanti High School and Cleary College. Her hobbies were knitting and sewing and she was a sewing teacher for the 4-H Club for many years. Ola was a member of the Dixboro United Methodist Church and the Michigan Draft Horse Association. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2010 and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2010 at Nie Family Funeral Home, Carpenter Rd Chapel, 2400 Carpenter Road, Ann Arbor. There will be a private graveside service at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Fairview Cemetery in Ann Arbor followed by a public memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Dixboro United Methodist Church, 5221 Church St., Ann Arbor, MI 48105 with Deacon Cathy Freeman officiating.
