Margie Teall - Ann Arbor

(Photo courtesy of The Ann Arbor Chronicle.)Margie (White) Teall (b. 1958) served as a Democrat on the Ann Arbor City Council, representing Ward 4 from November 2002 to November 2014. Teall was elected mayor pro tem by her Council colleagues for the 2013-2014 council year.

Teall decided not to run in the 2014 election, and that seat was won by Graydon Krapohl, a Democrat who ran unopposed in both the August primary and November general election.

By virtue of her council seat, Teall served on the city's environmental commission, Downtown Development Authority Partnerships committee, and the Housing and Human Services Advisory Board.

Teall is a freelance photographer and is married to Graham Teall, an assistant U.S. attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice and former Washtenaw County Democratic Party chair. They have two daughters, Clara and Gillian, and live in the Lower Burns Park neighborhood.

Nov. 6, 2014: Attends her final city council meeting as a Ward 4 representative.
January 2014: Announces her decision not to run for a seventh term on the city council.
Nov. 6, 2012: Runs unopposed in the general election and wins re-election to her sixth term on city council representing Ward 4. Gets 8,094 votes (97.65%).
Aug. 7, 2012: Wins the Democratic primary election against Jack Eaton with a margin of 18 votes. Eaton gets 848 votes (49.42%) compared to 866 votes (50.47%) for Teall.
December 2010: Starts work as a customer service manager for ResumeWriters.com.
Nov. 2, 2010: Runs unopposed in the general election and wins re-election to her fifth term on city council representing Ward 4. Gets 5,310 votes (97.92%).
Aug. 3, 2010: Wins Democratic Party primary for Ward 4 Ann Arbor City Council against Jack Eaton. Eaton gets 642 votes (30.63%) compared to 1,148 votes (69.08%) for Teall.
Nov. 4, 2008: Runs unopposed and wins re-election to her fourth term on city council representing Ward 4. Gets 9,066 votes (98.73%).
Nov. 7, 2006: Runs unopposed and wins re-election to her third term on city council representing Ward 4. Gets 6,234 votes (100%).
Nov. 2, 2004: Runs unopposed and wins re-election to her second term on city council representing Ward 4. Gets 8,347 votes (99.06%).
2002: Is appointed by the council to serve on the City of Ann Arbor Environmental Commission. She serves on that commission until 2011.
Nov. 5, 2002: Is elected to her first two-year term on the Ann Arbor City Council representing Ward 4. Gets 3,989 votes (59.47%) compared to 2,707 votes (40.35%) for Republican Kenneth Timmer.
1989-2006: Works as a freelance photographer.
August 1995-June 1998: Teaches at the First Unitarian Universalist Church in Ann Arbor.
1992: Earns bachelor of fine arts degree in photography from the Center for Creative Studies.
