Maproom Systems was the pen-name of Ypsilanti-based photographer and chronicler Brett Schutzman during the early- and mid-2000s. Much of his subject matter was things left behind and unlikely to be captured by other sources, ranging from collections of possessions abandoned curbside after an eviction to shuttered paper mills - the latter extensively researched and documented.

Though various known repositories of Maproom Systems content have gone mostly dark, including multiple blog-style iterations and a Flickr photostream, traces of it can be found around the web. Additionally, the historiographic bent of the work almost assures it still exists in some form.
