His mother was from County Kerry. Sadly, fellow investors drove Mr. Carpenter out of a Kerrytown project. He then purchased the old Diroff building which later was purchased by two fellows named Ari and Paul and served as the nucleus for the Zingermans businesses.</p> <p>  </p> <p> == Some businesses there:</p> <ul> <li> <a href="Everyday%20wines">everyday wines</a></li> <li> <a href="Hollander%27s">Hollander's</a></li> <li> <a href="Kosmo">Kosmo</a></li> <li> <a href="Monahan%27s%20Fish%20Market">Monahan's Fish Market</a></li> <li> <a href="Sweetwaters">Sweetwaters (Kerrytown)</a></li> <li> <a href="Pure%20Visibility">Pure Visibility</a></li> <li> <a href="Blue%20Newt%20Software">Blue Newt</a><a href="Blue%20Newt%20Software"> Software</a></li> <li> Formerly <ul> <li> <a href="Menlo%20Innovations">Menlo Innovations</a> (moved to Liberty)</li> <li> <a href="Eve">Eve</a> (closed)</li> <li> <a href="Yamato">Yamato</a> (closed)</li> <li> <a href="Everyday%20cook">everyday cook</a> (closed)</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <h2> History</h2> <p> Kerrytown is built in an complex of three brick buildings, the oldest from 1874.</p> <p> The <a href="Luick%20Building">Luick Building</a> is the former <a href="Luick%20Brothers%20Lumber%20Company">Luick Brothers Lumber Company</a>.
