Acme Investments Inc., doing business as Ivanhoe House Apartments, will pay the money to three people who were discriminated against and to the Fair Housing Center of Southeastern Michigan, the article said. The owners will also pay a $7,500 civil penalty to the U.S. government.
"Unfortunately, racial discrimination in housing persists in Michigan and elsewhere," U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade said in a news release.
