ITC Holdings Corp is the parent corporation of International Transmission Company, the company that owns most of DTE's high-voltage electric lines in Michigan - approximately 3,000 miles of power lines. ITC was founded by DTE in 1999, and fully spun off in 2004, in order to fulfill requirements of electricity deregulation: transmission infrastructure has to be owned independently of generating capacity.
ITC is headquartered in Novi.
