A list of places you can find Christmas light displays near Ann Arbor.

Ann Arbor

There are some in Barton Hills, but they're mostly white.

Ives Woods (did we spell that right?) has a house that adds a decoration every year.

Brooklyn Ave in Burns Park lines the entire street with votives on the Solstice. Many houses in the neighborhood have nice light displays for the whole season.

Tulip Tree Condominiums on Huron Street near Ravena; 'spectacular and well done'.

Concordia University has a display.

Downtown Ann Arbor is always filled with lights, but not in especially tacky shapes. The DDA lighting project uses LED holiday lights.

Wayne County

No nighttime spectacle can compare to Wayne County LightFest. With 4 1/2 miles of giant animated displays and nearly a million lights along Hines Drive, it's the Midwest's largest Holiday Light Show. Drive through 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily, November 19 - December 31, 2009 [closed Christmas Day]. Enter at Hines Drive and Merriman, 2 1/2 miles south of I-96 in Westland. A minimum of $5 per car helps keep LightFest operating. For more info call: 734-261-1990. http://www.waynecounty.com/mygovt/dps/depts/parks/seasonal.aspx

Gone but not forgotten

Domino Farms used to have a huge drive-through light display, but it cost them too much. Heaven knows who has the lights now (the manager lives nearby, and it looks like he 'borrowed' two or three displays each year -- he's still got his lights).
