Greene Street forms the western border of part of the Athletic Campus, serving the Buhr library and various administration buildings.

This street found internet fame in late 2004, over a proposal to build a cash-register apartment building at 828 Greene, replacing two houses at the site. By the end of 2005, that building has been completed, and is so far unsuccessfully seeking tenants.
