Gordon Hall in Dexter is owned by the Dexter Area Historical Society & Museum. It was built in 1841 as the home of Judge Samuel Dexter.

History

Judge Samuel Dexter's home was built in 1841 by Calvin Fillmore whose brother Millard Fillmore became president of the United States in 1850. Judge Dexter's home was called Gordon Hall. [1]

The society is seeking a change to the conservation easement for a parcel that includes the historic Gordon Hall – a change that would allow parking for several hundred vehicles on the land for spectators of Civil War re-enactments that the society intends to hold.
