Friends Lake Cooperative Community was founded in 1961 as a recreational cooperative. It is located on Long Lake off Waterloo, to OakRidge, to Clark Lake Road in Chelsea, about 5 minutes north of the center of Chelsea.
The Michigan Friends Center is located on the grounds.
