Ann Arbor's fashion community spans a wide range of interests but is still in its early life. During the fall and spring semesters of the University of Michigan the younger progressive population moves styles forward. Several boutique stores such as Today Clothing and Motivation serve these interests along with many established brands with stores at the Briarwood Mall and downtown on Main and State streets.

At the University of Michigan, several organizations raise funds through production of runway fashion shows and magazines. Two charitable organizations, NOiR Runway Fashion and EnspiRED, have been raising money for charitable causes for over a decade. SHEI Magazine has been publishing for over a decade as well.

Some photographers and writers document the Ann Arbor fashion community through their work. here & there is a blog about street style, lifestyle, and Ann Arbor culture. Dane Hillard Photography has several articles about Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti locals involved in fashion such as James Howard and Yoshi Clothing.

There are some community groups organized around fashion such as the Facebook group Ann Arbor Fashion.
