We operate out of 3 stations that protect a combination of residential, commercial, and rural areas. We have 7 fulltime firefighters and 30 paid-on-call firefighters. Station 1 in the Village of Dexter is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Dexter Area Fire Department protects all of the Village of Dexter, all of Webster Township, 60% of Dexter Township, and 40% of Lima Township. That comes to about 70 square miles with a population of just over 25,000 people and is growing fast. Station tours are welcome, for groups please call in advance.
