David Evans (1948 - 1998) was an architect and founder of Quinn Evans Architects
David earned his Masters of Architecture with High Distinction from the University of Michigan. He began his career with two pioneering preservation architectural firms. He spent two years with Kessler Associates under Edward Francis, FAIA followed by eight years at Preservation Urban Design with Richard Frank, FAIA. He and Michael Quinn, FAIA left PU/D in 1984 to set up their own firm, Quinn Evans Architects, in Ann Arbor and Washington, DC.

David Evans, FAIA of Ann Arbor was a leading advocate for innovative historic preservation. He was a founding partner of Quinn Evans Architects. His firm has worked on several well-known projects including Frank Lloyd Wright’s Pope-Leighey House, the Traverse City Opera House, the Point Betsie lighthouse, the Henry Ford Estate – Fair Lane, and the Michigan State Capitol.
