Dr. Benjamin H. Packard was a prominent Methodist and physician in Ann Arbor. He was born July 10, 1788, in Royalton, Vermont. He first visited Ann Arbor in 1825.

Packard was a delegate to the 1836 Frostbitten Convention on statehood, representing Jackson County.

He was one of the first trustees of Albion College, and was present at the initial meeting of those trustees in 1839 in Albion.
