The Ann Arbor Carriage Works was located on West Liberty Street, where the Ann Arbor Art Association currently has its headquarters. Owned by Walker and Company, the firm made high-end carriages for the likes of U-M Regent Junius Beal and Mayor Samuel W. Beakes, as well as utility wagons for the agricultural trade.

Christian Walker founded the business in 1867, and it lasted until 1921, adapting to the changing modes of transportation by selling bicycles and repairing early automobiles.
