The 1874 Official Railway Guide (Google Books) lists two railroads going through Washtenaw County, the Michigan Central Railroad and the Detroit, Lansing, and Lake Michigan Railroad.

The 1874 Michigan Central Railroad has a 76 mile route from Detroit to Jackson, stopping in Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, Delhi, Dexter, Chelsea, Francisco, Grass Lake, Leoni, and Jackson. Six westbound trains stop in Ann Arbor daily.

The Detroit, Lansing and Lake Michigan railroad goes through South Lyon and Salem.
